Shalu Chauhan is a tri-lingual (Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi) licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with over six years of clinical experience serving individuals from early intervention through adulthood. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from California State University, Fullerton, and maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Shalu’s clinical expertise spans pediatric and adult populations, including individuals with autism, childhood apraxia of speech, developmental language disorders, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, as well as adults with acquired neurological conditions such as aphasia, traumatic brain injury, dysarthria, and voice disorders. She is certified in LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) and has provided evidence-based intervention across clinic, home-based, school, and medical settings.
She specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), early intervention, motor speech disorders, and complex communication needs. Her advanced training includes motor-based and evidence-informed approaches such as Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), orofacial/myofunctional therapy principles, LAMP, and Gestalt Language Processing, as well as parent-focused frameworks including the Hanen Programs (More Than Words® and It Takes Two to Talk®). Shalu has extensive experience conducting AAC assessments, supporting device trials, and coaching families and interdisciplinary teams to promote functional communication and generalization across environments.
